nybody looking nowadays at Unirii Square will notice at the crossing with Vasile Alecsandri Street, a massive building with its baroque facade. 253 years ago , having no more than a ground floor and only one storey, this building was named for unknown reasons "At the Elephants"

This place was also head quarters of the well known Wendt cafe - quoted in varios writings from over a century ago. At present here is the Italian restaurant "Intermezzo", located at the basement of the building in a cellar with thick brick walls. It all started with the main purpose of creating a cosy place to make you feel "at home" in it and give you the pleasure of housing your close friends and relatives.

Our menu includes all sorts of attractive appetizers: soups , steks, fish or seefruit assortments as well as desserts and various drinks.
